MY INSPIRATION

As I said in my bio, I have gained a passion for making food. It particularly excites me to make food for people. It genuinely brings me joy. This page is to share with you some of my inspirations in both the culinary world and the outside world as both have helped shape me into the person I am today. My intention is to eventually add more information here and provide some guidance, blogging and recommendations.

One of the first culinary books I read is Kitchen Confidential. It will always be my favourite culinary book. If you haven’t read it, it is by Antony Bourdain. If you’re a culinarian you will be aware he tragically took his own life on June 8, 2018. This book and all his work afterward were a complete inspiration to me in wanting to become a chef. This is the book that brought Antony into the limelight. It’s a brilliantly written anecdote of life in a kitchen. Brutally honest and extremely funny.

Out of all the websites and blogs I've read this one tops the lot. I love the detailed information and research that goes into each recipe. From the origin and culture behind it to the mise en place and plating of the dish. The writers clearly take their time and care about who is reading; not only do they write about how you can get the best results in the kitchen, but also to be more knowledgeable in the culinary world, which to no surprise, is vast!
